New forestry management techniques
Cooperative profile
UTM provides assistance in recovering neglected suburban areas using an innovative technique called Miyawaki. This approach, very easy to carry out “even a child can do it”, was first introduced in Japan to restore indigenous ecosystems and maintain global environments, including disaster prevention and carbon dioxide (CO2) mitigation. Natural vegetation successional stages (from bare soil to mature forest) are practically forced and reproduced, accelerating natural growth times and with no maintenance. The cooperative also offers training courses and tree management services – from tree health assessment to pruning by tree climbing (more effective, economically and physically),
Target market
The cooperative’s target market is central Italy. They aim at different kinds of clients: companies, municipalities, schools, citizens and training entities.
Founders
The cooperative is made up of three members – a computer expert in forestry management and two forestry management graduates, one specialized in Biosystems.
