Performing Arts Made in Southern Italy
Cooperative profile
29nove is a cultural cooperative located in a small village in the Salento area (Puglia – South Italy). It was founded by a team with different artistic backgrounds who, having been successful in theatrical training courses and organizing artistic events as a cultural association (P.ETRA – Artigiani del Ciel Seren), decided to take the next step: turning a passion into a business.
The cooperative offers:
- theatre training for children, teenagers and adults focused on practical, experiential training designed to increase individual exposure, knowledge, and access to the arts;
- live performances (theatre, music, dance, etc.) covering all aspects, from production to promotion and organization;
- organization of other kinds of cultural events such as exhibitions, shows, ballets and concerts.
Target market
The cooperative’s target market is “Making Culture”, a much-diversified market, but not a niche one. Surveying the local market, the founders discovered a great potential for cultural activities in terms of kinds of clients and geographical spread. The idea being that Arts are for people of all ages and social classes and its market has no borders. Opportunities exist to expand further in Southern Italy, moving out of the Salento, to other parts of Italy and abroad.
Founders
The cooperative is made up of four members with different skills: a Graduate in Managerial Engineering and Stage Director, who is also an actor and an expert in theatre training; an actress with long experience in theatre and responsible for the theatre training courses; a writer, responsible for the organization; an actress, expert in art restoration.
