3D-4Uman, cooperative founded thanks to Coopstartup, has been selected to compete at European level
The Cooperative 3D-4Uman (Catanzaro) – among the winners of Coopstartup Calabria -in partnership with Legacoop Calabria, has been selected at national level to be nominated by the Italian Ministry of Economic Development for the European competition “European Enterprise Promotion Awards 2017”. The awards ceremony will take place in Tallin (Estonia) on 22-24 November
Legacoop and Coopfond, the company that manages the fund set up by the resources of Legacoop members and responsible for running Coopstartup project, are very proud for this achievement.
3D-4UMAN is located in Catanzaro. The cooperative is made up of four members – a bio-mechanic engineer, a biomedical engineer, an architect and a student of architecture. It designs and models, using 3D technology, to create first a virtual product and then produce the physical object. The cooperative would like to apply the 3D approach to different fields, from medical industry to architecture.
Their starting product is an arch support (personalized and printed in 3D) designed to meet the needs of people playing sports that may cause physical injuries, which can be reduced using the right arch support. The objective of the cooperative is to make something useful both for beginners, wanting to be more confident in adopting the right movements, and for professionals, eager to achieve a better performance.
A personalized prototype is designed to meet the needs of each person and to minimize the risk of bad postural problems. The arch support aims at balancing the morphological and physical foot features taking into account not only the person’s height and weight but also the characteristics of the sport and the role played.
