Cooperative profile

Ippocratech has designed a medical device called Visible, a capillaroscope for clinical diagnosis, ergonomic and portable, to be used by doctors to diagnose possible connective tissue disorders and Raynaud disease. Visible is made up of hardware and software components and combines a microscope with a digital video camera. Extremely precise measurements can be achieved by using the software and the image magnification capability. It has been designed as an easily transportable device, using 3D prototyping, personalizing the product to the user guaranteeing a more precise diagnosis. As well, the electronic system behind the acquisition and rendering of the images is an added value.

Target market

Visible has been developed to provide an alternative efficient device at a low cost. One reason for the relative lack of interest in clinical capillaroscopy has been the unavailability of inexpensive mobile devices. The high cost of similar machines in fact limits their spread and so the diagnosis of some important diseases (rheumatological, dermatological and others). The cooperative’s main market is doctors, in Italy and abroad, selling their products via web.

Founders

The cooperative is made up of 3 members, two biomedical engineers and one specialist in Internal Medicine.
