Cooperative profile

COOP@ would like to found a microbrewery and a brewpub using local resources at their best. The project hopes to grow hops, brew beer and promote social inclusion and community participation. The main product (the Bundenbrau Beer), produced on a small scale, is characterized by its quality, flavor and artisan brewing methods. The promoters follow km0 social farming principles with healthy ingredients straight from the farm and increasing employment of disadvantaged people. In addition, their wish is to give new life to an old “Casa del Popolo” (community center) setting up a brewpub to sell their beer and also to create a meeting place for young people.

Target market

The cooperative’s target market is that of young people living in the surroundings and in general of people attentive to social issues and organic farming. The cooperative will begin selling its product to loyal customers, that of people attending the cultural and leisure center (Circolo ArciBarakko) located in the Casa del Popolo. The next step will be to sell the product, and the idea behind, in other Case del Popolo (that are about 50 in the province of Ferrara) and to ethical purchasing groups.

Founders

The cooperative is made up of nine members: eight natural persons and one legal person (a social cooperative). Most of them are financing members.
